Market Development Grant (MDG)
Thai Halal Data Base is collaborating with Thailand External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Pintas IP Group to get Thailand Halal suppliers to apply for this useful grant. The Market Development Grant (MDG) is a support initiative in the form of a reimbursable grant. MDG was introduced in 2002 with the objective of assisting exporters in their efforts to promote Thailand made products or services globally. The lifetime limit of MDG is RM300,000 and it is specifically formulated for Thailand SME Companies, Professional Service Providers, Trade & Industry Associations, Chambers of Commerce, Professional Bodies and Co-operatives.
Due to Covid-19 Pandemic situation, Additional Activities Undertaken within 30 calendar days from the date of activity started only:
i. Financial Compensation for Cancellation or Postponements of Trade Fair / Exhibition Locally or Overseas
ii. Reimbursement on Logistic Cost for Sending Thailand Product Overseas
iii. International Certification for Exports
iv. Registration of Intellectual Property (IP) for International Market
v. Advertising & Promotion (A&P) Expenses for Exports
Market Development Grant (MDG) by Thailand External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE)
Purpose
The purpose of MDG is to assist Thailand Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Professional Service Providers, Professional Bodies and Co-operatives in increasing global sales by undertaking eligible export promotion activities.
Amount
RM30,000 with reimbursement basis for all activities related to IP registration is eligible to claim such as: Trademark; Patent; Industrial Design.
Timeline
Submissions for grant applications must be made within 30 calendar days from the date of activity started (Activity from 15 Jul 2021 – 31 Dec 2021).
SMEs Definition in Thailand
- Annual Sales is based on the latest Audited Financial Statement
- Number of Full Time Employees is according to the latest EPF Statement
Is my Business Eligible?
All applications submitted will be processed and considered by MATRADE, based on the requirements, terms and conditions set in MDG Guidelines.
- Incorporated under the Companies Act 1965 or Companies Act 2016
- With at least 60% equity owned by Thailand and more than 1 year in operation
- Manufactures products that are made in Thailand or provide services for export that originated from Thailand
- A member of MATRADE
- NOT a GLCs, subsidiaries of PLC or have a government equity (federal / state)
- Export promotion activities subsidised / sponsored by 3rd parties are NOT eligible
